David Amponsah Boakye (Editor-in-Chief)
Born on 21 September, 1977 in the Jaman South District of the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana to peasant trained teachers–Mr. Philip Alex Kwasi Buachie and Madam Cecilia Vida Misaah, young dynamic Boakye took life's battle seriously right from the onset when he started at the R/C Primary School at Kwasibuokrom–his hometown.
He obtained his B.E.C.E. from St. Henry's Junior Secondary School in 1994 and entered St. James Seminary Secondary School at Sunyani where he obtained S.S.C.E.
Before Boakye entered into the journalism profession, he had an inner urge to become a Catholic Priest but after his SSSCE in 1997, the dream faded out and he finally took a two year Diploma course in Journalism.
After his diploma programme in journalism in 2001 he joined the Daily Guide for his internship experience after which he worked with the TV3 network in Kumasi for a period of one year which enriched his experience in broadcast Journalism.
He joined the Ghanaian Chronicle in Accra after he had gained an adequate experience in the field of Broadcast Journalism to register his name in the print media.
His fearless nature pushed him into investigative journalism.
Boakye moved away from Chronicle with the late Editor, Ebenezer Antwi Kesse, to start the National Concord which eventually folded up after the death of the Publisher.
His quest to excel in newspaper publication motivated him once again to join hands with Dominic Jale, who also broke away from the Ghanaian Chronicle to start a weekly newspaper–The Sun.
He again realized that he was much effective in Science Journalism which of course is new in Ghana.
He gathered the courage to start the 'Health Digest' and hopes to excel with that, sooner than expected.
As a bachelor he spends most of his leisure time on computers writing stories for news publications and non-fictions to amuse his pals and others. Boakye is inspiring to become one of the best fiction writers in Ghana. He is kind, loving and on top of it all an easy going man.
