SOCIETY FOR AIDS IN AFRICA (SAA) TO HOLDS 16TH INTERNATIONAL AIDS CONFERENCE IN ETHIOPIA

ICASA 2008 Route Match The 16th International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA) will be held IN Addis Ababa –ETHIOPIA, from 4-8,December 2011.
Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA) as custodian of ICASA, is inviting the whole Africa and other continent, to identify their self with the only African Bilingual conference that will be held in Africa.
The 4 days international conference is expected to attract about 10,000 Participants and delegates from around the world. The conference theme:
"Own, Scale-Up and Sustain" will be one of the best so far organized in the African soil since all concerned stakeholders in the area of HIV/AIDS
Advocacy and research are expected to participate in the program.
As SAA established it permanent secretariat in Accra-Ghana since October 2009,In an interview with the Coordinator of SAA permanent secretariat in Ghana, Mr. Luc Armand Bodea, this Sixteenth International Conference in Addis Ababa is meant to serve as an advocacy platform to mobilize African leaders,Partners and the communities to scale up ownership, commitment and support to the response.
he said the conference will also provide a forum for exchange of knowledge,skills and consolidation of experiences and best practices in Africa and
around the globe to scale up evidence-based response on HIV/AIDS /STIs, TB and Malaria to achieve the MDGs.
According to him the conference will be used as a forum to link and hold political and national leaders accountable including stakeholders in the
in AIDS response. He said that the conference will equally create opportunities to define priorities and set policy and program agenda to enhance mobilization and effective utilization of resources.
Mr. Bodea added that the conference is a clarion call to all concerned to Impart their knowledge and experiences on best practices on HIV/AIDS and STIs to others in the perspective to achieve, Zero new infection, zero stigmatization and zero related death to HIV/AIDS, in Africa.
Mr. Bodea urged all to register and to participate in the forth-coming ICASA 2011 conference in Ethiopia as registration is still opened.
He also informs that the late abstract breaker is open till 17th October 2011.
