CONTRACEPTIVES CAUSE FIBROID
Dr. Michael Asaase, Almighty herbal Clinic has indicated that fibroid is caused by the regular use of contraceptives and other synthetic medicines that women use in prevention of pregnancy.
Speaking to the health Digest in Accra last week, he said women who use the synthetic medicine in preventing pregnancy are more vulnerable to fibroid than those who use the natural system.
He said the use such medicines changes menstrual periodic time of the woman and that the blood that is supposed to pass out during their menstruation would partially stay in the womb as clot.
He added that women who take chemical food and oily food get it as well.
He said infected women show symptoms of heart problems, headache, dizziness, mentratuation overflow or decrease (disorder).
He said fibroid ceases the blood from flowing and sometimes the normal menstrual days start to increase (thus if it is supposed to last within four-days, it may increase to either five or a week) or reduces (if it is 3days it can reduce to 1 or 2 days).
He said, depending on where the fibroid will generate (inside or outside the womb) the patient can still conceive but if she is not put on proper medication the fibroid could later contract the womb and the pregnancy will spoil (miscarriage)
Fibroid can equally prolong pregnancy to years (3to4) because the womb turns upside down.
When the womb turns, the Festus doesn’t go through the stages of development.
Dr. Asaase said fibroid can be treated by putting the patient on medication for 9 months after every 3months where the patients will have to go for regular check ups.
He said operation or medical surgery can be done as well but it depends on the size of the fibroid added normally doctors advise patient at the early stages to try and conceive.
He advised that women should be taking bitter leaves, cicome, cabbage, carrots, pawpaw leaves (dry or flesh ones), dandelion but added that those who overflows during menstruation should not take the pawpaw.
