SIX MILLION DIE FROM AVOIDABLE DISEASES-HEALTH MINISTER (

In spite of the Techno-Medical advances in the country and around the world, over 6 million people die every year from avoidable diseases. Malaria,
HIV/AIDS, TB, Diabetes, Stroke, Hypertension and many more are avoidable diseases that could be prevented from occurring to a person yet it claims
more lives than accident. Hon. Joseph Yieleh Chireh has this to tell the Health Digest News Last week at the commemoration of Africa Healthy
Lifestyle Day in Accra. The Programme dubbed “Wellness and Fitness for Action and Productivity” attracted people from all walks of
lives. According to the Health minister, Ghana is the first country to have branded the “Healthy Lifestyle” as Regenerative Health and
Nutrition. He said this programme was very important to all the AU member state since all the members are expected to organize awareness-creation
and advocacy programmes for the benefit of all communities. He said Africa faces a progressive increase burden of non communicable diseases that
could be prevented by adaption of healthy Lifestyle through lifelong health diets, physical exercise and regular medical assessment. He added it
was a recommendation by the AU conference of Health Ministers to wage war against poor lifestyle. He said this could be achieved through adaption
of relaxation, fruits and vegetable consumption low salt , sugar, fat and meet intake. The day was commemorated with lots of activities ranging
from exercise to food and no smoking or alcoholism campaign target at reducing death through preventable diseases. According release, African
