We Are Building No Mortuary at Sowutuom-Agbeve Mr. Wahab Agbeve, the manager of Agbeve Herbal Clinic has debunked claims that his outfit was
putting up a mortuary facility at Sowutuom residence. Speaking to the Health Digest News, Mr. Agbeve said the management of the clinic has never
thought of establishing a mortuary at the said residence and that the residents of the said area should cleared out their fears from the fact that the
rumour mongers are spreading the falsehood about the building of a mortuary facility at the newly acquired land. He said the multi-billion hospital
project at Sowutuom does not contain any department or apartment for services where dead bodies would be kept for long time. He said that the
facility is mainly meant for treatment of diseases added that the newly acquired land at the Sowutuom was meant for factory projects where medicines
would be processed to serve the sick people at the main hospital. Earlier in the day, the editorial department of the Health Digest received
complains from the concerned residents that the management of the Agbeve Herbal Clinic was putting up a mortuary project at the residents which was
against the rules of the environmental protection agency. The residents furthered explained about the health problems that such project could post
to the people and that the earlier the management rescinds its decision the better. Mr. Wahab explained that the Directors of hospital were Moslems
and that it is against their religious beliefs that a dead body is kept at a place for a longer period. He stated that the land that had been
acquired at the said place was meant for establishment of factory where all their medicines would be processed. He said the hospital is sited at
that place to serve the community and the people of Ghana and that nothing would be done jeopardize the relationship between the residents and the
hospital. He declared that the Hospital has opened its information and communication ban for all the people who care to know from them to enquire
regularly from them in order that the fear and unnecessary speculations would be cleared out. (Story; Amponsah Boakye)
