A fruit processing company, "FRUITO" now produces one of the healthiest fruit drinks in the country for major consumption.

The company, PRIME FRUIT PROCESSING LTD. is one fruit juice processing company that is owned by an indigenous Ghanaian citizen and uses locally produced pineapple in making the drink for consumption.

The product is rated as one of the best in the country since there is no additive, flavour or preservation in it.

The drinks taste as natural as fresh raw pineapple from the farm. The fresh pineapple drinks come in two different types, one blended with Ginger and the other raw pineapple in 330ml bottles.

The products are naturally wholesome and promote human health to a large extent since there are no chemical traces in them.

Health Digest’s visit to the production centre indicated that PRIME FRUIT PROCESSING LTD. had made it a policy to among other measures, not to add any food preservatives, additives or artificial colouring to any of its existing products.

Irrespective of scarcity of pineapple from the open market, the company does not compromise with quality of the pineapple brought from the farm.

According to Mr. Kwasi Asiam, General Manager of the Company, the raw pineapples bought from the farmers are further selected at the company before the juice is extracted for final production.

He said plans are far advanced to acquire land for pineapple farming to boost production.

Mr. Asiam said the company will soon produce pineapple jam on commercial bases from the pulp of the pineapple.

The company, located at Sowutuom, has a conducive environment where processing is done under highly hygienic conditions.

Mr. Asiam said that currently their major customers are scattered all over with most being in Tema, Accra, Ho and Cape-Coast.
