Agbeve Herbal Clinic will by mid-July complete a multi-billion cedi hospital project at Sowutuom to serve the community and its
environs.
This GH¢ 27 bn hospital project that was started February last year is now on the completion stage and by mid July the full
operation of the hospital would be started.
According to the Managing Director of Agbeve Herbal Clinic, Alhaji Mohamed Agbeve, so far GH¢
14.7bn has been spent on the project and sooner than expected the hospital will start operation to serve the people.
He said the new hospital
has a general, VIP, female and male wards to contain every aspect of sicknesses.
This complex herbal hospital has an O.P.D, Laboratory, and a
Boiling centre where herbal medicine is prepared as well as a standard gym for physical exercise to keep patients fit at the fastest
rate.
Alhaji Mohammed at Sowutuom pointed out that it is time that the government has to give the herbal Doctors attention to be able to attend
to various illnesses in the country.
He said most Ghanaians today resort to the use of the herbal medicine in treating their chronic diseases,
adding that it is comparatively cheaper and effective.
He therefore appealed to the government to give prior attention to herbal medicine
producers since most of them have gotten effective formula for treating diseases.
Currently, Agbeve herbal clinic has a workforce of 278 in
Ghana including Doctors and Nurses.
Since the forest is the main source of resources for the herbal Practitioner and bush fire always a threat
to the herbal Doctor, Agbeve herbal Clinic has acquired 150 acres of land at Nkyenua near Koforidua and 70 plots at Dankyira near Kasoa for
aforestation purposes.
He said apart from the hospital that has been established to render services to humankind, plans are far ahead to
establish a college that will train people in the manufacturing of herbal medicine so that Ghana could boast of competent herbal Doctors in future
since this would facilitate minimal expenditure on the importation of drugs from China and other countries.
He said the school will be one stop
shop for intelligence and excellence that will produce herbal doctors that can fit into every standard here and outside the country.
He said the
training school will give the students knowledge about preservation of plant medicine, and protection of the plants as well.
"The school will
collaborate with the Ministry of Health to train people where specialization will be a key factor", he hinted.
Alhaji Abgeve has now become an
icon to uplift the image of Sowutuom with a complex Hospital that will surely address sicknesses of all types and could make many people travel to
Sowutuom to seek treatment.
At 58 with a family of seven, Alhaji Abgeve and his hospital have become household names.
