A 62 year old female Ghanaian herbalist has succeeded in producing standard herbal capsules and tablets that are effective in treating obesity and fat in the country.

Madam Rose Anyokor Sowah, a widow who spoke to the Health Digest Editor at her clinic at Santa Maria said she started herbal medicine in 1994 when her husband died.

"I knew the formula long ago but was not practicing it until my husband once advised me to start it", she pointed out.

She said the most effective plants that can cure goitre, eye problems and fat burning are the sea weeds.

She further hinted that, capsules at her disposal are effective for the treatment of obesity and that many people have been able to reduce weight with the medication.

She said the sea weeds are rich in minerals and vitamins but very difficult to get from the sea.

She said that colossal amount of money is spent in getting the raw material from the sea since most of the fishermen who use engine boats are the people who get her the materials from the sea.

Madam Rose Anyokor Sowah is now running a registered herbal clinic (ROSOKOR) at Santa Maria where serious chronic diseases are treated.

Most of her clients have testified to the efficacy of the medicines from her centre.

According to Rose Sowah, she was introduced to the herbal medicine when she was only 16 and has since then been researching into plant medicine and several diseases.

She has through this been able to manufacture several medicines for the treatment of Hernia, Fibroid, Flense, Malaria, Typhoid, and HIV/AIDS to treat her patients.
