The question of HIV/AIDS treatment and cure is continuously generating conflict in the sphere of the medical industry.
While most
professional medical doctors keep on denying the fact that HIV has got a natural cure, their counterpart herbalist colleagues locally on the other
hand continue with credible and anecdotal evidence of their claim for natural cure.
One such notable herbalist, among others is Oheneba Owusu
Acheampong, based in Accra, whose herbal preparation has become effective for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
Records available to the Health
Digest newspaper indicate that, as far back as 1981, after the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine had conducted tests on the said
preparation- Oheakor Herbal Mixture, the centre wrote back to commend the herbalist for his feat.
Four patients who were treated with the
medication had been tested and had testified to this with their laboratory tests report from Korle-bu.
Based on their claim, and that of many
others, there is now an anecdotal evidence of natural cure for this dreaded disease which continue to claim many lives daily, globally.
Many
herbalists continue to express their deep frustration about lack of support from policy-makers to enable them make meaningful contribution to the many
dying needlessly on daily basis of diseases they have cure for naturally with affordability.
According to Oheneba Acheampong, all possible
efforts made so far to register the preparation as cure for HIV/AIDS have proved futile. With all the records available at our disposal Food and Drug
Board could not go ahead to register the concoction, he lamented.
Owusu Acheampong said in an interview that he often attends to few patients
and in most cases he gives the medicine to the patients in the powdered form and has decided to treat children from the age of 2 for free because most
of them acquire the disease through no fault of theirs.
In most cases these herbalists who have made significant success in their research work
have been shunned by the trained medical elite who feel threatened by the power and potency of the unorthodox medication.
We should begin to ask
ourselves how the Chinese were able to overcome their health problems that saw them through major industrialization.
They did this through
healthy hard working men and women who had first, confidence in their country and second in themselves.
Today, China supplies more nations with
food, expertise and herbal medication than any other country in the world.
Is not this an enviable feat, folks?
